Introduction to Jessica Richard Photography
Just a little bit about who I am, what I do, and why I do it.

Hello!
Thank you for taking the time to look at my website and to take the time to read this post to get to know me.
I grew up in St. Catharines, ON and began my post-secondary education at Brock University for psychology. After attending Brock for a year and a half I quickly realized that psychology wasn't the career path for me. I knew I wanted to make a difference in peoples lives and I just became lost on how I wanted to do it. I am someone who believes a career should not be something you feel forced to do and that it should be something you enjoy doing. Since we spend so much of our lives doing it, I had to figure out what that would mean for me. I realized that Photography has always been a huge passion of mine and it is a career path that is able to make a huge difference in people's lives while also allowing me to be creative and to be able to talk to people and get to know them (which is another thing I love doing).
Immediately after this realization, I applied to the photography program at Algonquin College in Ottawa, ON. I had heard that this program was excellent and decided that if I were going to pursue this as a career I would have to do it right and put my all into it, (even if that meant moving 5 to 6 hours away from my family, which is something I would have never seen myself doing previously). Anyways... Surprise!!! I made it into the program! As I am writing this now, I am entering the final months of the program. I have learned so much more than I could've ever imagined while being in this program and I am so happy that I decided to push myself outside of my comfort zone to be able to experience it.
Besides my love for photography I also hold a few other things dear to my heart...
Iced Coffee
Cats
Dogs
Bunnies
Actually... all furry animals
Family
Laughter
Books
Ice Skating
Homesense
Christmas
I know I already said iced coffee but.. the pumpkin cream cold brew needs its own spot
Warm weather
Pasta
Poutine
and so much more...
Oh! And here are some images of my pets!
